Graham is a Director of Tripos and is a specialist in effective management systems. Originally qualifying as a civil engineer, he specialised in geotechnical engineering (receiving a doctorate in 1986) before moving into business management with the global environmental consultancy Dames & Moore in 1991.
Over a 12 year period Graham was responsible for developing the business management support functions of this rapidly growing, and market leading, professional consultancy. Following the acquisition of Dames & Moore by URS Corporation he led significant change management of these functions to facilitate the integration of other URS companies and support the restructuring of operations.
Building on this experience Graham was Operations Director at the environmental and health & safety certifiers ERM CVS, before working independently and then joining Tripos in 2009.
Graham has 360° experience of management systems, having worked with them as a business manager, a certifier and a specialist consultant. His particular expertise is in developing management systems that match the requirements of businesses with a minimum of bureaucracy. A focus on the basic outcomes and controls of a business is used to show where the business meets the requirements of the applicable management standard, and allows the missing elements to be shaped to suit.
Living in rural Surrey, Graham splits his non-working time between taxi duties for two teenage boys and playing the guitar at an unsociable volume.
